What do we want for our nation and our people? On election days we cast ballots for or against proposals, politicians, and parties, but what is it we want? As Christians we want respect for God and His word. We want our laws to reflect God and His word, our representatives to represent God and His word, and our political parties to support God and His word. We do not want pluralism, humanism, liberalism or any other kind of “ism” that disrespects God and His word. But we do not want to endorse terrorism in order to reach our objectives. We prefer an electoral process that will peacefully accept the ballots of citizens to choose, even if we are disappointed with the outcome. Liberty is the hallmark of a Christian nation. For other nations and religions, terrorism is the method of choice to achieve their desired ends. It has always been that people must ultimately choose between liberty and terrorism, freedom and force. We are seeing it acted out on the world stage today. As Christians, we want the liberty to choose righteousness, for “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people” (Proverbs 14:34). Rick Cunningham
