“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Heb. 4:12) When we open up our Bibles we are not viewing a dead letter. On the contrary, the Word of God is alive (1 Pet. 1:23)! His commands go out into the Earth and His Word runs very swiftly (Ps. 147:15). His Word never returns to Him void and it always prospers (Isa. 55:11). Beyond that, God’s Word is energetic (powerful). We all understand the feeling of being drained. In our technology driven world we plug our devices in all the time to keep them charged. If we are feeling drained spiritually, then let us plug into the powerful Word of God daily (cf. Acts 17:11). Read, study, meditate, apply, and share (1 Tim. 4:13-16; 2 Tim. 2:15). Let us have the high praises of God in our mouths and His two-edged sword (of the Spirit - which is the Word of God - Eph. 6:17) in our hands as we carry forth the blessed Gospel message (Ps. 149:6)!
