The Bible is unique in its circulation and has been a best seller since the printing press was established. The Bible has been translated into more than 2,000 languages. The Bible as a book has no equal among all the other books of the world. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Tim 3:16-17). What exactly does it mean when we say the Bible is inspired or God-breathed? It means it is a book like no other for it is the breath of God. The Bible is our life book, for one day we will be judged by it (John 12:48). Jesus said, His words will never pass away (Matthew 24:35). Theodore Roosevelt said, “A thorough knowledge of the Bible is worth more than a college education.” If you read and study the Bible you will discover, as 2 Peter 1:3 declares, God’s divine power [that is God’s Word] has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. The Bible is more than a book about an ancient man who disturbed his culture and died years ago. This book is about Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world who wants all people to come to a knowledge of the truth and be saved (1 Timothy 2:4). Clark Tatum
