“But the children struggled together within her; and she said, “If all is well, why am I like this?” So she went to inquire of the Lord.” (Gen. 25:22) Ok Google! Hey Siri! We live in a time of modern convenience where even now as I type this message it is on an electronic device connected to the Internet. People inquire (to ask about; investigate; to put a question) of Google and Siri about a great many things. Who do we inquire of? Rebekah had twins (Esau and Jacob) in her womb and as they struggled she went to inquire of the Lord about the matter. The Lord who sees all (Prov. 5:21) and knows all (Psalm 139) is the proper One to inquire of. God informs Rebekah about what is going on (cf. Gen. 25:23). We can always take God at His Word for He cannot lie (Titus 1:2). The same cannot be said about Google, Siri or any other of man’s devices (cf. Jer. 10:23; Prov. 14:12). Let us make sure we are inquiring of the Lord about any matter we face. We do so through prayer and diligent study of His Word (cf. 2 Tim. 2:15; 1 Thes. 5:17). Just look at the Christ and see how often He prayed as our perfect example (cf. Luke 3:21, Luke 6:12, Luke 9:18, Luke 9:28-29, Luke 11:1). Inquire of the Lord! Trent Thrasher
