Every person at the 14th and Main Church of Christ is important. It has always been this way since the church first began to meet in Big Spring in 1912. People are important to us as they are to God – first, last, and always! Growing together, we worship, we laugh, we learn, and serve others to the glory of God. Every member of the church family is important to God and to this church family. A church up in the northeast had built a new church building. People came from far and near to see it and admire it. Up on the roof a little nail, holding down a shingle on the roof had these thoughts, “I am not important, they don’t need me. I am just one nail holding on a shingle. They don’t need me!” The little nail began to work itself out of the roof and it fell to the ground. It began to rain and the nail was buried in the mud and began to rust. The shingle worked loose and water started to leak into the beautiful building. The water stained the pews, walls and the carpet. Why? All because a little nail felt like its job was not important. Are we human beings any different? As Christians let us not fail to do our part in holding down our piece of shingle to the Glory of God and for the family of God. Clark Tatum
